In class we have been focusing on the ideas of time management and developing helpful habits for academic success. I found it appropriate for this weeks’ Campus Safari to visit the Office of Study Skills Enrichment.
Coincidently enough, the office is right next to my Psychology class and I have never noticed it before. It is located in Engleman C016. They offer services for all students who want to improve their overall academic ability. This could be in the area of test taking or note taking for example. They offer workshops for students to learn how to enhance these areas. When I went their I received different pamphlets: one about the Campus Writing Center and Tutorial Center and the other on the Office itself. Both pamphlets gave tons of information about smart ways to use these resources. The staff told me that each year, more and more students come here for a variety of areas of study. Especially around exam time! I would definitely go to the Office of Study Skills Enrichment if I found myself in trouble with a specific subject in order to learn the most effective way for studying for it. From there they might turn me over to a tutor or to a Writing Center Workshop. No matter what, they are willing and here to help you!
